Spring has finally arrived, and the Easter weekend has come to a close so let’s look at what else Hendricks County has going on throughout the month of April.

If you haven’t made plans to view the Eclipse yet, now is the time. In addition, there are ample opportunities to try something new, whether you’re ready for some of the first car shows of the season or want to prepare the garden for planting.

Kegs and Eggs 2024

It’s an Easter Egg Hunt with a twist for adults on April 6. Join the Washington Township Parks Department for an afternoon of unlimited pours from more than 25 Indiana breweries, wineries and distilleries, food trucks and of course, an adult egg hunt to win prizes.

Viewing the eclipse with protective glasses

On April 8, Hendricks County will experience a total solar eclipse, and there are a ton of events and activities you can choose to attend. There are camping sites, businesses opening their doors and day or even weekend-long events you don’t want to miss.

The annual fundraiser for Misty Eyes Animal Center on April 14 offers live music, dinner and some uplifting stories of animal rescue. Not only do guests get a fun evening, they’re also supporting a great cause.

First Friday Cruise-In cars

On April 18, Connection Pointe Christian Church will begin their CP Cruise-IN series; a free car show on the third Thursday of the month through September. Just two days later on April 20, Indianapolis Cars and Coffee will return to Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for some car-show fun.

Gardening for All Ages

The annual event hosted by the Hendricks County Master Gardeners and Purdue University Extension on April 27 is a great way to learn more about your own garden, best practices, ask questions and attend educational sessions. The entire family will enjoy this fun event as there’s activities for the young gardeners too and they've added some historic touches this year to help celebrate our county's Bicentennial.

The Shops at Perry Crossing will host a Block Party on April 27. Like the car shows listed above, it brings together car, truck and motorcycle fans for the free event. It also offers a variety of dining, shopping and entertainment opportunities if you want to make a day of it. This is a ticketed event presented by Indyhoodrats.
