Morning

Start your weekend right with a fun DIY activity you can enjoy together. We recommend one of two places depending on your interests.

Board and Brush

If you would love to create some truly amazing wood signs you can use to decorate a home, office or to give as a gift, head to Board & Brush in Brownsburg.

They provide all the tools and expertise, and you put in the sweat equity to create an amazing piece you will enjoy for years while creating memories with your sweetie that will last forever. Make sure to plan ahead though by making a reservation.

The Tie Dye Lab

If the two of you prefer clothing and tie dye, then our recommendation would be an experience at The Tie Dye Lab in Avon. Again, they provide the expertise, materials and even clean up the mess for you. You leave that same day with an amazing creation you can enjoy together.

Lunch

After that fun activity how about enjoying some rooftop dining for a late brunch or early lunch at The Prewitt Restaurant & Lounge in downtown Plainfield. This sophisticated, fine-dining experience in a former movie theater will allow you to enjoy each other's company over some great food and drinks.

Afternoon

How about holding hands as you stroll through various small-town shopping experiences?

Some of our recommendations depending on your tastes and time include Gilley's Antique & Decorator Mall and African Plum Home & More in Plainfield, Copper Top Customs in Clayton, a variety of small shops on the Square in Downtown Danville or if you love boutiques we have a list of great local ones to explore.

Depending on where you go for shopping, you can fuel up in between with an afternoon tea at Ms. B's Teas in Clayton, dessert from Two Chicks Whiskey Business in Plainfield or drinks and charcuterie at Mokey's on the Square or ice cream at Danville Dips, both in Danville.

Evening/Dinner

After checking into your hotel to relax and freshen up, we have a great plan for an evening out. We suggest starting with dinner at one of three Avon restaurants depending on your taste. If you are a wine aficionado, we highly recommend Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant. Do you prefer some Asian flair? Then we recommend Bangkok Kitchen for an amazing Thai experience or if American food is more your jam, you can't go wrong with Charbonos in Avon.

After dinner, you must check out a show at Red Curb Improv Comedy Theatre. This group hosts two shows every Saturday night in an intimate setting. A more PG-version at 7 p.m. and then an adults-only show at 9:30 p.m.

Breakfast/Morning

After a good night's sleep at one of our great hotels, we suggest heading to Brownsburg for breakfast. What better place to take your best friend than Best Friends Coffee & Bagels? You can stare into each other's eyes over one of their unique coffee flights and enjoy great food in a relaxing setting.

After breakfast, why not get a little adventurous with a guided horseback ride at Natural Valley Ranch in Brownsburg.

No riding experience is necessary as these horses have been trained to follow each other through the woods and over the beautiful topography carved out by White Lick Creek. Make sure you plan ahead by getting a reservation.

If horses aren't for you, you can stay on your own two feet and take a hike or stroll through some of our top trails in Hendricks County including at McCloud Nature Park, which leads to your last stop on this weekend couples getaway.

Lunch

Before leaving our great county, why not enjoy some amazing Italian food in an out-of-the-way, hidden gem in a tiny town.

You can even try to recreate the famous Lady and the Tramp scene with some spaghetti at Perillo's Pizzeria in North Salem.

This Sicilian favorite also offers great pizza, calzones and so much more, and they have a great outdoor patio the two of you can enjoy.
