One of Hendricks County, Indiana's hidden gems is located on the east side of Avon Town Hall Park, just past the shelters, near the maintenance barn.

There you will find Trak 36 -- the only free and public track for radio-controlled vehicles in the county!

Operated by Avon Parks & Recreation, this outdoor RC track opened in 2016 and is available for public use from dawn to dusk daily. (The track will be closed if the conditions are too wet, but a quick check of the Town of Avon's website will indicate Trak 36's status.)

Do you own a battery-powered RC vehicle, and it's getting boring running it up and down your neighborhood street? Bring it out to Trak 36 and take it for a spin on the winding dirt track there!

RC vehicles have to stay on the track at the park, so you won't have to worry about getting yelled at or seeing your prized vehicle get crushed under a tire.

You also don't have to worry about the sun beating down on you while you're there because there is a covered drivers' deck that provides shade while still allowing you to see the entire track.

How quickly can you navigate the dirt track, the sharp turns, the hills and the jumps? Users find the track both fun and challenging, and they also get to meet fellow RC enthusiasts.
