Anastasia- Hendricks Civic Theatre

The Hendricks Civic Theatre will bring Anastasia to the stage at Hendricks Live! in Plainfield on Aug. 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9.

Journey from the fading Russian Empire to the streets of 1920s Paris as Anya sets out to uncover the truth about her past.  She is joined by an unlikely pair of companions on a breathtaking adventure to discover where she truly belongs and the meaning of love and family.

9th Annual Artists Paint the Town

Artists Paint the Town

Celebrate art and community on Aug. 8 at the 9th Annual Plein Air Paint the Town, presented by Gallery on the Square and the Downtown Danville Partnership. Stroll through historic downtown Danville while enjoying artists of all skill levels paint outdoor inspiration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Join in on the creativity during the family fun at 1 p.m. or register to create your own "plein air paint" in the following categories: Youth (12 & under), Teen, Non-Professional, and Professional. The event will include an awards presentation at 4 p.m. on the east side of the Courthouse lawn to recognize multiple skill levels.

Indiana Hardcourt Championships

World-class tennis competition comes to Brownsburg, Indiana, Aug. 8-16 at the Indiana Hardcourt Championships, presented by The Ed Brune Fund.  

Some of the best professional men's players in the world will compete for a spot in the U.S. Open during this week-long experience. The event will take place at the Brownsburg Tennis Club, 1548 Odell St., and tickets are still available.

Explore free family fun your kids will totally dig at Dirt Works Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Blue Heron Park (formerly Avon Town Hall Park). 

Discover demos of real construction equipment, hands-on with big machines and a huge dirt area for kids to play (bring your favorite toy truck).

Beasley's Orchard Sweet Corn Festival

Summer isn't complete without Indiana sweet corn. Head to Beasley's Orchard in Danville on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. for a fun-filled day. 

Activities include corn-themed competitions, hayrides, face painting, Barnyard Bonanza play area with the giant jumping pillow, food & craft vendors, music entertainment and more. Pre-order tickets online for $8 or pay $10 at the gate (2 years old and under are free).

Sing along to America's favorite summer tunes with Sounds of Summer - A Beach Boys Tribute at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29. End summer on a high note with this FREE community concert at Hummel Park Performing Arts Center in Plainfield

Staying true to the Beach Boys' original sound, Sounds of Summer has performed nationwide for the last 10 years.
