Usually, the NHRA rolls into town for a major event once a year for the Desno Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals. For the 2020 season, two additional NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events have been added to the event schedule in Indy. You can find information about each event coming to Lucas Oil Raceway below.

Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals

The 66th Annual Desno Spark Plugs U.S. Nationals will be held at Lucas Oil Raceway over Labor Day Weekend, September 3rd - 6th, 2020. The Big Go is the biggest and best event in drag racing each year and is the final race in which drivers can qualify for the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.

Tickets & Discounts

Every ticket is a Pit Pass, so fans will have the opportunity to have an up-close and personal experience. You'll be able to meet drivers, get autographs and take photos with your favorites. Bonus NHRA Events in 2020

Tickets are limited for the July NHRA events at Lucas Oil Raceway and won't be offered to the general public. However, if you purchase tickets for the U.S. Nationals, you will receive exclusive access to purchase tickets to the two additional NHRA events coming to Indianapolis in 2020. NHRA Members may also purchase tickets to both July events. For tickets, please call 1-800-884-6472.

E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals

This event will feature all four Mello Yello classes – Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition will not be included.

Lucas Oil NHRA Summer Nationals

This event will feature Top Fuel and Funny Car along with the E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Series presented by J&A Service, Mickey Thompson Tires Top Fuel Harley Series and the SAMTech.edu NHRA Factory Stock Showdown. Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition will not be included.

2020 Spectator Rules

Lucas Oil Raceway has added new protocols for fans due to the pandemic. These include face covering requirements, social distancing, health screening, sanitizing and more. Please review the Spectator Rules before attending.


Lucas Oil Raceway offers dry camping for the U.S. Nationals. For more information, call 317-852-5737 or visit the Lucas Oil Raceway website.

Raceview Campgrounds offers camping with hook-ups directly across the street from Lucas Oil Raceway. For more information, call 317-291-4090.


Coolers no bigger than 14x14x14 are permitted. No glass containers or alcohol allowed. For more information on permitted items, please view Lucas Oil Raceway's Gate Policy below.

Gate Policy

Parking is available on site after you enter the main gate off U.S. 136 and is $10 per day. To view parking options, download the Lucas Oil Raceway Map.


Lucas Oil Raceway is not located on a public bus line. Most taxi companies and ride share services, like Uber and Lyft, will make runs to the track.


Animals are not allowed at Lucas Oil Raceway. The only exception is made for service animals. 

Seating, Suites and Hospitality

General Admission seating changes daily. There are 3 suite areas; Oval Suites, Parks Tower and Concourse Suites as well as hospitality tents throughout the event.
