Discover Winter Magic at These Igloo Experiences Near Indy

I'm always looking for fun ways to create magical memories for our family, especially during the wintertime in Indiana.

While we still love exploring our local parks and play places, these igloo experiences at area restaurants have become a special way to add a little magic to our family memories.

We have three igloo options this year. Here's what you need to know:

The Prewitt in Plainfield

Salmon Dinner in a Rooftop Igloo at The Prewitt

The Prewitt in Plainfield, Indiana, offers Rooftop Igloos. Each igloo seats up to 6 guests and comes with a tabletop fire pit, heater, blankets, board games and a Bluetooth speaker. You can even purchase a s'mores kit to add to the experience!

While the igloo experience is fun and magical, the quality of the food and service shines as well! A two-hour reservation includes a $35 rental fee with a minimum charge of $100. You can reserve online or call the restaurant directly.

The Oasis Diner in Plainfield

The Igloos at Oasis Diner in Plainfield, IN

The Oasis Diner in Plainfield is known for its house-made soda, handmade milkshakes and tasty food, including giant tenderloins. And this year, for the first time, they are offering an igloo dining experience during these winter months.

Our kids have always enjoyed the menu items at The Oasis, so this would make a fun, family holiday outing! Each igloo can seat up to six guests and can be reserved for 90 minutes with a $25 rental fee. You can reserve online or call!

The Creation Cafe - Coffee & Bakery in Danville

Santa in an Igloo at Creation Cafe - Coffee & Bakery

You can find Santa in an igloo at Creation Cafe -- Coffee & Bakery in Danville this year. Cookies with Santa in the Igloo offers a unique way to visit Father Christmas on Dec. 5 and 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. It's $5 per child and includes a visit with Santa and a mini cookie.

While no reservations are needed for the regular Santa visits, a Special Sensory Santa Hour is offered on Dec. 5 from 4:30-5:30 p.m., which requires a reservation. This will offer a quiet, low-sensory hour for children who prefer a calmer experience. You can call or send them a message on Facebook or Instagram to reserve your time slot.

Creation will also offer igloo rentals to continue the winter magic! They will be available to reserve for $20 per hour starting Dec. 16. Call or message them to arrange a rental.
