Center Street Parking Garage, Plainfield
The Hues of Hendricks County Public Art Initiative -- launched by The Hendricks County Arts Collective and Visit Hendricks County -- has completed this fifth and final mural. We Are Interwoven will have its official unveiling & ribbon cutting on Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.
Artist, Andrea Myers, with support from, GANGGANG, created a bright, patterned tapestry, representing Plainfield’s culture on the downtown parking garage next to Hendricks Live! Community members contributed personally significant fabrics and joined in on a hands-on workshop that influenced the final vision.
Copper Top Customs, Clayton
The Mill Creek Mural Project is located on the side of Copper Top Customs. The artist, Holly Sims, worked with students at both Mill Creek East and Mill Creek West to transform this blank canvas into a work of pride for their town.
While teaching at Mill Creek East during this special project, I saw firsthand how effectively Sims engaged students by curating a mural experience. The students were able to observe the entire step-by-step process, from planning the mural's design and identity to each receiving a paintbrush and contributing to the painting itself.
A&D Hardware, Coatesville
Centered in the heart of Coatesville, the mural Soaring Flight adds vibrant character to the town. This new mural is part of the Hues of Hendricks County Public Art Initiative.
The artist Andrey Kravtsov, also known as KEY DETAIL, has created murals in Europe, Asia and the U.S.

Back of the Gallery on the Square, Danville
Artist Anthony Brooks, who is based between Chicago and Berlin, Germany, has a connection to Danville reflected in this mural in Downtown Danville. Take a close look at the spool behind the green pottery, you will see his connection in the words, For my Aunt.
This still-life art on the corner of the Gallery on the Square gives a great view to travelers on the street.
Hendricks County Courthouse Square, Danville
Who doesn't love a walk around the historic, Danville town square? Start your walk to this eye-catching mural with your hot latte or cold ice cream cone from Danville Dips.
Walk to the south end of the courthouse, and you can relax in the open seating in this welcoming alley to enjoy your treat. To continue exploring, consider the one-of-a-kind shops on Danville's town square.
Lizton Union Township Fire Department, Lizton
Artist, Efren Rebugio, Jr., who is also known as Everyday Research, uses local voices to tell culturally layered stories that resonate with the community.
Rebugio, Jr. gives us one of the easiest murals to view while you are traveling in the car (Ind. 39 and US 36). This stand-out is one of the visual works for the Hues of Hendricks County and was made possible through a grant from the Hendricks County Community Foundation.
West Pearl Street, North Salem
Blooming, a playful and fanciful design by eccentric artist Angie Jerez, has added some flair and color to downtown North Salem. This beautiful wall is located on the corner of Main and Pearl streets.
The first time I saw this transformation, it immediately caught my eye as my family and I headed to eat at Perillo's Pizzeria, just one building away. I love the color palette with the original brick peeking through the top.
Ash Interactive, Brownsburg
The Spot is the centerpiece for contemporary art in Brownsburg located on the ASH Interactive building, on Main Street, two minutes east of the Brownsburg Town Hall. It was easy to find using my phone's map app. Just enter The Spot.
Don't overlook the murals lining both sides of this extended building. Each year, the art changes so that new artists have the opportunity to highlight their talent.
Main Street, Danville
The Open Windows was the first mural created for the Hendricks County Arts Collective's Mural Trail, and was painted in 2016 by artist Tiffany Black. I love how it brings Hendricks County's story to life!
It highlights beloved landmarks and influential figures — from the Vandalia Trail to Governor William Hendricks (1822-1825). You can spot this work on the north side of the Hendricks County Courthouse Square, located in the alley between buildings east of the iconic Mayberry Cafe.
