I have my own opinions about some of the top cafes and diners in Hendricks County, but I also wanted the opinions of others. Naturally, for that, I turned to Yelp.

Hotcakes Emporium
In Avon, fans of breakfast will find Hotcakes Emporium -- and you won't leave hungry, thanks to their large portion sizes. The friendly staff and wide variety of pancakes, waffles and French toast options are terrific, too.

Ricky's Pancake House
Another favorite of Yelp users is Ricky's Pancake House. It doesn't matter if you're at the location in Pittsboro or in Avon, you'll find delicious pancakes, waffles and French toast on the menu that are worth the visit.
Yelp users report light, fluffy pancakes that melt in your mouth, reasonable prices and great service at Ricky's Pancake House. They also name it one of the top places to find pancakes.
Emmy's Pancake House & Grill
A popular spot in Avon, Emmy's Pancake House & Grill is great for groups of any size who want breakfast, brunch or lunch. Great service, a clean restaurant and plentiful portion sizes are hallmarks of Emmy's.
Yelp users also rate Emmy's Pancake House & Grill one of the best places to find all three breakfast treats: pancakes, waffles and French toast. They're one of only two places on this list that score that trifecta!
Flap-Jacks
A favorite place for Yelp users for pancakes is Flap-Jacks Restaurant in Brownsburg or Plainfield. You can find pancakes, waffles and French toast on Flap-Jacks' extensive menu, among many other breakfast and lunch offerings.
A coworker and I are frequent visitors to the Flap-Jacks in Plainfield -- so much so that the staff often has our drinks waiting for us on our table as soon as they see our work truck enter the parking lot. The service is always excellent and the food is always tasty, which is why we eat there so often.
Stacks Pancake House & Grill
The second trifecta winner for being Yelp users' recommendations for pancakes, waffles and French toast is Stacks Pancake House & Grill. The original Stacks is located in Plainfield, and a second location opened in 2024 in Clayton.
My coworker and I are big fans of the Stacks Pancake House & Grill in Clayton, where the staff is very familiar with us and always makes us feel welcome. There are all sorts of pancakes, waffles and French toast to choose from on their menu, so visit with an empty stomach.
The Breakfast Company
The Breakfast Company in Brownsburg is a great place for breakfast in general, with all sorts of options available, but Yelp users put them in the spotlight specifically for their pancakes.
Whether it's their full stack, short stack, silver dollar pancakes or Strawberry Banana Split pancakes, you'll find a delicious breakfast at The Breakfast Company -- and they have waffles and French toast, too!
Oasis Diner
The Oasis Diner in Plainfield does a lot of things well -- tenderloins, homemade sodas, pie, breakfast and more. It feels like Oasis is constantly on our "best of" lists in Hendricks County, and it's well-deserved.

Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery
Speaking of restaurants that are perpetually on our "best of" lists, the Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery in Danville is another common inclusion. If you're after breakfast, brunch, unexpected dishes or soup, for example, you'll want to head to the Bread Basket.
And according to Yelp users, if you want some amazing waffles or French toast, particularly their nationally renowned cinnamon roll French toast, the Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery is one of the best in the land.
Court House Grounds
On the east side of the Court House Square in Danville, you'll find Court House Grounds. Meet up with friends, relax, converse and enjoy great food, drinks and company there.
A local favorite for more than a quarter-century, Court House Grounds is also one of the best places for waffles, say Yelp users.
